{deity} poem x e.l. jayne

t

{deity}

she talks of him,

as if he drafted the stars in the sky,

she will drown him,

the way he did to her,

proclaiming into the emptiness of the night,

of her love and adoration.

comparable to the fear swelling inside;

she’s never loved anything that didn’t scare her.

    The image you have chosen reminds me of how vast and dark the universe can seem, if we focus on the emptiness between the little pockets of light. However, if we can focus on the beauty of the light once we have crossed each terrifying expanse, we will set ourselves up to be brave and hopeful.

      This is such a deep take on my photo and I thank you for giving such meaning to it! Lately I’ve been subscribing to a similar train of thought, focusing on one little light after another, taking things day by day. Finding the little pockets of light in each day…
