{paradox}

the paradox of life remains:
we spend our lives figuring out who we are,
to discover our true selves,
yet we can never truly know.

we are always changing, experiencing new things, evolving.
it’s impossible to know who you will be,
after the accumulation of  these unforeseen events,
events we couldn't previously fathom.

everything will be the best we’ve ever had,
and the worst we’ve ever had,
perpetuating the cycle of volatility.
and so the paradox remains.

    Who you are going to become is never who you WERE going to become…. it keeps changing …. because the future is never what it WAS going to be

    Whenever I write a new song there is a period of time, sometimes very short, where it is the favourite one I have written. Like meeting new people, seeing me places, trying new foods, there is always something to look forward to. Daunting, perhaps, but exciting.

    Life is non-linear, and that is one of the best things about it.

    Thank you for sharing this poem. 😊

      yes, I definitely feel the daunting part of that! like when I finally figure out a new way to do things or discover something new I”m wondering why I hadn’t thought/done it earlier… but that’s life I guess huh :}

        Words of truth. I’m realising it’s at these moments we must celebrate the success – even if it took us longer than we thought it might to get there!
