¿Solamente en Español?

Day 4: I’m beginning to speak in only Spanish here. I’m able to understand almost everything people say, and able to answer back in some way. My American friends and I will speak in Spanish but still say certain expressions in English. It’s crazy how much you can learn when you use Spanish in your everyday life, not just in the classroom. I’m also actually becoming accustomed to eating dinner at 21:00, the cold, walking everywhere… and of course siestas! I walk about 4 miles everyday. The food here is amazing and so healthy. My host mother makes salad and some type of vegetable soup for every meal. Having orientation activities planned almost every minute of my day has made it difficult to adjust, but I’m finally getting over my jet lag. Right now, I only use English to communicate the little I do with my family/friends back home and to learn new phrases in Spanish. Also of course to write this blog because my family and professors don’t speak Spanish. (Except Katie and Dr. Lanier and my mom a little.) Well that’s all for now- time for dinner here! I need to find something to do with my free time in the evenings before dinner….
