Which are you loyal to:
Your suffering or your growth?
Sometimes we can get so lost in our own suffering we become enslaved to it which prohibits us from healing. Especially in the midst of this global pandemic, are you looking for ways to be productive or do you find yourself feeling like a victim of the circumstances?

Hmm … I’m being very productive, but I can see both sides of it. Sometimes we actually are suffering (stress, illness, etc.) and need to focus on solutions. Other times, struggling can be good – like learning a new skill, buying a house, finding a job we enjoy, or facing other difficult challenges. I guess “the struggle” can be viewed as growth or suffering, so what gain are we struggling *for*?
Thanks for the provocation!

Growth, for certain. I’ve spent more time in reflection, meditation, WRITING, and immersing myself into my family. I do have a very good friend, however, who is struggling hard with anxiety. I’ve encouraged her to channel those emotions into her writing, to allow her work to serve as an outlet, but she says, “I just can’t. I just can’t.” I won’t stop the attempts to help her, of course, but I don’t know how to get through.

I’m as busy now as I was when I was working full time. The difference is I’m in control of my destiny and I only have to answer to myself. Luckily I’m getting unemployment. Definitely a time for growth and self preservation. 😊 Hope you are having a wonderful day!

i think i am consistent with my suffering. its like a warm blanket some days. of course growth plays a huge role but the prior dominates on quite a few days. hope you are keeping well.
