¡Hola amigos, espero tu todos han tenido un bien tiempo!
Today is my anniversary of my one month arrival in Spain! I’m absolutely loving my time here and I thought I´d give you a rundown of my daily routine here to give you a small glimpse of my life!
First, I have class Monday through Friday from 09:00-13:00, then lunch at 14:30 every day so I either do yoga or practice juggling (soccer) with that extra hour. I also practice yoga every morning for 30 minutes before breakfast so I can be awake and prepared for the day.
After lunch – siesta time! I’m loving this part of the Spanish culture 🙂
After my siesta, I walk to the park of a famous Spanish poet and playwriter, Francisco Garcia Lorca, to journal and read while watching the beautiful sunset. I’m reading a book of a collection of poems by Portuguese poet, Fernando Pessoa, A Little Larger Than The Entire Universe. The sun sets a little before 19:00, so then I have about 2.5 hours before dinner since we eat so late here! Somedays I go home and practice yoga again before dinner, maybe I pick up something I need from the stores, hangout with friends, do homework or work on my website, etc.
Dinner is at 21:00 every night here which is definitely later than I’ve ever been accustomed to, but I’m getting used to it because it forces me to do something productive with almost 3 hours extra of time. Usually back home after dinner I’m not very productive and just want to relax after eating but here I’m forced to be productive with so much extra time before I eat!
I love my schedule here and am enjoying not being as busy as I usually am. Life is definitely a lot more relaxed in Spain. On weekends I travel since my 6th internship takes me to different cities in Spain almost every weekend besides a few. Although I have been looking for more jobs and opportunities to travel internationally while I’m here, I’m enjoying staying in Spain and getting to know this country. Life is not a race or a competition! I’m here to enjoy myself and enjoy the last few months I have in my life of not having a real job!
“Each day you didn’t enjoy wasn’t yours:
You just got through it. Whatever you live
Without enjoying, you don’t live.
You don’t have to love or drink or smile.
The sun’s reflection in a puddle of water
Is enough, if it pleases you.
Happy those who, placing their delight
In slight things, are never deprived
Of each day’s natural fortune!”
Fernando Pessoa 14 March 1933
One of my favorite quotes (of too many to count) in the book I’m currently reading. Although I came to Spain anxious to find a job to travel and found one in four days, I’m focusing on enjoying life and each day, life is too short not to.
Until next time! Habla luego 🙂

esta nota me hace sonreir 🌞🇪🇸❤️
